About The Gourmet Grocer & Café
From Pop-Up Idea to Enniskillen’s Food Destination
Born during the Covid pandemic, The Gourmet Grocer began as a small “Chef to Table” pop-up — transforming idle chefs into local food heroes. The idea flourished, evolving into a purpose-built 3,000 sq. ft. store and café on Enniskillen’s High Street, offering fresh, local, and chef-made food to the community.
The creation of brothers Nicky and Gavin Cassidy, it marks the first retail venture from the Cassidy Hospitality Group, whose portfolio includes The Westville Hotel, The Firehouse, and The Crowes Nest. Together, they’ve combined years of hospitality experience with innovation in retail — creating a space where restaurant-quality food meets everyday convenience.
The Café, the Coffee & the Community
On the first floor, the much-anticipated Gourmet Café brings sit-in dining to life, serving breakfast, brunch, and lunch — paired with locally roasted coffee from The Common Ground Roastery, Fermanagh’s first speciality coffee micro-roastery.
From grab-and-go pastries to hot brunch plates, it’s a place designed for locals and visitors to pause, connect, and enjoy the best flavours of Fermanagh.
The Café launch drew huge community support, with a packed Grand Opening event celebrating the store’s first anniversary — a testament to how loved the brand has become in just one year.
Chef to Table: Quality, Convenience & Innovation
At the heart of The Gourmet Grocer is its Chef to Table concept — freshly prepared meals and weekend kits made by in-house chefs and delivered straight to the shop floor. This direct “farm-to-shelf” model eliminates middlemen, allowing the team to maintain high quality and fair pricing.
The innovation doesn’t stop there: the store continually introduces new recipes, seasonal meal kits, and bakery specials. Regular tasting events and live cooking demos let customers sample what’s next — making Gourmet not just a place to shop, but a place to experience food.
“Our customers want restaurant-quality food they can enjoy at home — and they want to know where it comes from. We’re proud to offer both, without the premium price tag.”
— Nicky Cassidy
Innovation Meets Everyday Convenience
The Gourmet Grocer has filled a crucial gap on Enniskillen’s High Street — bringing together everyday essentials and high-quality food solutions under one roof. From breakfast rolls to fine wines, our shelves reflect the way modern customers want to eat: local, fast, fresh, and flexible.
We’re constantly evolving — introducing new recipes, bakery specials, and limited-edition meal kits based on customer feedback, seasonal ingredients, and culinary trends.
Our in-store tastings, live cooking demos, and social media showcases bring that innovation to life, turning shopping into a shared experience.
Sustainability at Our Core
We take pride in reducing waste and protecting our environment through practical action.
Our production-to-retail model minimises transport and packaging, while our chefs repurpose surplus ingredients into daily specials to prevent waste.
We’ve also invested in energy-efficient refrigeration and lighting systems, trained our staff in energy-conscious practices, and continue to seek greener ways to operate without compromising quality or freshness.
Supporting Local, Serving the Community
Everything we do is rooted in community. From partnering with local farmers and producers to hosting tasting events and supporting Fermanagh’s first speciality coffee roaster, The Gourmet Grocer & Café is proudly local-first in every sense.
As Nicky Cassidy explains:
“Our customers want restaurant-quality food they can enjoy at home — and they want to know where it comes from. We’re proud to offer both, without the premium price tag.”
Award Recognition
In just its first year, The Gourmet Grocer has already made its mark nationally, being named a Finalist for Neighbourhood Store of the Year at the Grocer Gold Awards in London — a huge achievement for a small-town business competing on a UK stage.
This recognition celebrates the innovation, local focus, and hospitality-driven service that set The Gourmet Grocer apart.
The Future: Fresh Thinking, Local Heart
With the launch of The Gourmet Café, new bakery and barista offerings, and an expanding product range, the future is bright for The Gourmet Grocer.
We’ll continue to push boundaries, champion local producers, and deliver great taste with a personal touch.
Good food. Fresh thinking. Local heart.
That’s The Gourmet Grocer way.
